A Message From Danielle

I became a social worker due to my strong desire to work with people and help them to create meaningful changes in their lives. I spent the first ten years of my career supporting individuals with developmental and learning disabilities. This eventually led me to further my education and I completed both my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work at Laurentian University. I have found my passion working with pediatric populations. I have extensive experience supporting children, teens, and their caregivers in both community based and residential settings. I have supported youth with a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, family conflict, social anxiety, panic, self- harm, trauma, substance misuse, and grief. I approach treatment using an eclectic framework drawing upon approaches and modalities such as cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectal behaviour therapy, arts-based methods, and play-based approaches. I use principles of body work, brain/body integration, nervous system regulation techniques, meditation, and mindfulness in my practice.

I am originally from Northern Ontario and I have a passion for the great outdoors! When I am not busy helping clients, you can find me hiking, skiing, paddle boarding, skating, biking, camping and spending time at the family cottage. I love spending time with friends and family! I am also an avid reader!

My role is to provide support and guidance to children, teens, and parents. I believe in establishing a meaningful connection with my clients in order to help them draw on their own strengths, develop new skills and strategies to empower them to make positive changes in their life. I offer a safe, non-judgmental, and encouraging environment so children and youth feel comfortable and empowered. I look forward to having the privilege of accompanying you or your child on a journey of healing and self-discovery!
