Meet Mary Barr: Affordable Therapy for Individuals, Couples, and Teens


At Couples Therapy Centre, we're proud to introduce Mary Barr, a dedicated and compassionate therapist-in-training who brings a warm, person-centered approach to her work with individuals, couples, and teens.


Mary is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and is practicing under the supervision of both a Registered Psychotherapist and a Registered Psychologist. With a foundation in evidence-based approaches and a strong background in mental health, Mary is committed to creating a safe, inclusive space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow.

Mary brings a range of specialized training to her work, including:

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Externship for Couples

  • EFT for Individuals

  • ASIST Suicide Prevention Training

  • Children’s Mental Health Certificate – Georgian College


Mary’s therapeutic style blends holistic and evidence-based practices with genuine curiosity and care. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community herself, she understands how vulnerable it can be to seek support—and she strives to ensure her clients feel respected, accepted, and understood.

Practical Information


  • Languages Spoken: English

  • Session Fees: $100 (individuals), $120 (couples), $170 (psychology-supervised sessions) per 50-minute session

  • Insurance: Coverage may be available under Registered Psychologist or Registered Psychotherapist—please check with your provider

  • Consultations: Free 15-minute phone or video consultation available

  • Available: In Person and virtual therapy available on Thursdays 2-9pm and Sundays 9-5pm.
