Allison is a warm, compassionate Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a great sense of humor whose main belief is that everyone is deserving of a space where they can share and process their thoughts and feelings without judgment. Using a client-centered approach, Allison allows clients to lead their therapeutic journey.
Allison offers her services to couples, individuals and teens, creating a safe, non-judgemental environment for profound personal growth, relationship healing, and quality of life.
Allison incorporates elements of evidence based frameworks including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). Using these frameworks and her genuine passion for helping others, Allison’s goal is to identify your strengths, and the tools you already possess to move in a positive, healthy new direction. Allison is able to help couples struggling with communication breakdowns, parenting concerns or any issues facing your relationship. Along with couples therapy, Allison also offers assistance for anyone struggling with major life transitions, 2SLGBTQ+, stress management, grief, self-esteem and confidence.
When not with her clients, Allison can be found spending time with her family, friends and puppy Boston. She enjoys gardening, yoga, adventures, and a good movie, accompanied by a warm cup of tea.
Allison is currently completing the internship component of the Master of Arts, Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. She has also received additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples.
Allison is available Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on weekends.
