Feeling overwhelmed but not sure about starting weekly therapy?
We get it. Sometimes, you just need a safe space to talk things through, without committing to long-term counselling. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new Drop-In Therapy Sessions at Couples Therapy Centre for July and August 2025.
What Are Drop-In Therapy Sessions?
We aim to offer accessible, flexible support for individual clients seeking brief, solution-focused therapy with a supervised clinical intern.
Drop-in therapy consists of a 50-minute, one-on-one session with a clinical intern. It aims to provide support for whatever you’re dealing with at the moment, whether it’s stress, a challenging parenting situation, emotional overload, or simply the need to be heard. These sessions are intended for individual clients who are new to Couples Therapy Centre. Clients can schedule up to 6 drop-in sessions without committing to ongoing therapy.
***Please note that the first session lasts 80 minutes to cover confidentiality/consent and assess your needs (offered at the same low rate). Additional drop-in sessions are 50 minutes long.
There’s no commitment, no pressure, and no long intake process. Just care, connection, and space to breathe.
Meet Mary Barr
These sessions are offered by Mary Barr, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) under clinical supervision. Mary brings over five years of experience working in mental health and community support settings, including residential care for youth with ASD, FASD, and concurrent emotional needs. She’s trauma-informed, client-centred, and offers a deeply compassionate presence.
Mary specializes in supporting:
Preteens, teens and young adults navigating emotions, stress, and identity
Parents and caregivers feeling overwhelmed or unsure how to support their child
Neurodivergent individuals looking for affirming, strengths-based care
Anyone feeling stuck, disconnected, or just needing to talk
She also offers LGBTQ2S+ affirming care and uses tools from DBT, mindfulness, and emotion regulation practices.
