Drop-In Program for Individuals and Couples Available Now!

Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed or just unsure where to start? Is typical therapy not affordable? Do you need support, but don’t want a long-term commitment to therapy? Reduced Rate Psychotherapy for Individuals and Couples is soon available! Our Drop in Therapy is back, just in time for spring beginning this Saturday April 18th 2026. No commitment. No pressure. Just care, connection, and space to breathe.

What are Drop-In Therapy Sessions?

Drop-ins are 50-minute, one-on-one sessions with a supervised clinical intern, focused on helping you manage what’s happening right now. Whether that’s relationship struggles, stress, burnout, parenting struggles, emotional overload, or the need for a safe space to talk- we are here to support you.

We offer both individual sessions and for the first time, couples sessions as well. Individuals can book up to six sessions at the reduced rate of $50 per session. Couples can book up to eight sessions at the reduced rate of $60 per session. As all our couples work at Couples Therapy Centre, we start with a session together as a couple, then two individual sessions for each partner, and continue with the rest of the sessions together. Having eight drop-in couples sessions allows for those two individual sessions needed to inform the couples work.

Our Drop-In Therapy is designed to provide brief, solution-focused support when you need it most. We use solution based work as it is the most effective for short term support.

Who are Drop-In Sessions Meant For?

Due to the short term nature of the drop-in sessions, they are not suitable for complex traumas, crisis, or severe mental health presentations. Drop-In sessions are appropriate for (but not limited to):

Individual Cases:

  • Mild–moderate anxiety, stress, depression

  • Life transitions

  • Relationship concerns

  • Self-esteem or identity exploration

  • Emotional regulation

  • Mild low mood (no safety risk)

Couples Cases:

  • Communication skill-building

  • Mild–moderate conflict

  • Premarital / relationship check-ins

  • Rebuilding emotional connection

  • Boundaries, expectations, or roles

Drop-In sessions are not appropriate for complex cases as their limited sessions do not allow enough time to heal. Drop-In sessions are not appropriate for:

Individual Cases:

  • Active suicidal ideation or high safety risk

  • Severe trauma or dissociation

  • Eating disorders

  • Substance dependence

  • Severe depression or psychosis

  • Court-involved / forensic cases

Couples Cases:

  • Domestic violence or fear-based dynamics

  • High-conflict / emotionally unsafe couples

  • Active infidelity recovery

  • Legal / custody disputes

  • Escalation, intimidation, or coercive control

  • Couples considering separation with hostility

If you are unsure if the drop-in program is appropriate for you, please to call or email to ask! Our contact information is below.

Sessions are provided by Tanisha Singh, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), under clinical supervision. Tanisha brings warmth, empathy, and years of counselling experience in those needing support with mental health challenges, substance use concerns, and housing instability.

Why Do We Offer Drop-In Sessions?

At Couples Therapy Centre, our mission is to make therapy more accessible. Support shouldn’t feel out of reach. We know that taking the first step can feel hard, and we believe everyone deserves a safe, affordable space to talk things through. This is why we offer drop in sessions. Even without a long-term commitment, these sessions are perfect if you’re curious about therapy but not ready to commit long-term.

What About After I’ve Used the Maximum Amount of Drop-In Sessions?

While the Drop-In Program is limited to 6-8 sessions, this does not mean your support has to end there. If you would like to continue therapy, you can stay with Tanisha, or any other therapist at their regular rates. It is helpful to note that Tanisha’s regular rate is reduced as she is a clinical intern, meaning her support is still accessible post Drop-In sessions.
