Personally Speaking
Tanisha Singh is a counselling intern who already brings several years of direct counselling experience to her work with couples, individuals, and teens at Couples Therapy Centre. Before beginning her master’s training in counselling psychology, Tanisha provided years of 1:1 counselling and coaching through an online practice, supporting clients with anxiety, stress, body image concerns, relationship issues, and self-care. She has also facilitated groups focused on emotional regulation and healthy coping strategies.
In addition to her counselling experience, Tanisha has worked in community mental health settings with the Canadian Mental Health Association and Fife House Foundation. In these roles, she supported people facing mental health challenges, addictions, housing instability, family stress, and the impact of trauma. Her frontline work has helped her develop a strong understanding of the real-life pressures people face and the importance of creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for healing.
With training in CBT, crisis intervention, relationship counselling, emotional intelligence development, and suicide intervention, Tanisha brings both practical tools and a compassionate presence to each session. People often feel comfortable around her because of her gentle energy. She listens without rushing, allowing others to share at their own pace and in their own way.
Tanisha enjoys working with teens navigating big emotions, individuals seeking clarity and confidence, and couples looking to strengthen their communication and connection. Fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, she offers culturally sensitive care and welcomes clients from all backgrounds.
She is excited to be joining the Couples Therapy Centre and looks forward to supporting the community with empathy, curiosity, and respect.
