I became a social worker due to my strong desire to work with people and help them to create meaningful changes in their lives. I hold both Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Laurentian University. I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have extensive experience supporting individuals across all spans of their lifetime including children, teens, and adults. I provide support to individuals with a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, stress management, life transitions, chronic pain, insomnia, social anxiety, panic, self harm, trauma, substance misuse, and grief. I have extensive experience supporting children, teens, and their caregivers in both community based and residential settings.
Rather than adopting one methodology for all individuals and concerns, I utilize a variety of methods to create a tailored approach unique to each individual depending on their treatment needs. I draw from an eclectic framework of approaches and modalities such as cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectal behaviour therapy, and polyvagal theory. I use principles of body work, brain/body integration, nervous system regulation techniques, meditation, and mindfulness in my practice. Additionally, I utilize a wide variety of trauma informed approaches to facilitate healing. My therapeutic approaches consider the complex interconnections between the biological, psychological, and social aspects of an individual’s life.
I believe that healing is a collaborative endeavor that requires an honest caring, supportive and non-judgmental environment. I believe in establishing a meaningful connection with the individuals I support, in order to help them draw on their own strengths, develop new skills and strategies to empower them to make positive changes in their life. I look forward to having the privilege of accompanying you on a journey of healing and self-discovery!
I am originally from Northern Ontario and I have a passion for the great outdoors! When I am not busy helping clients, you can find me hiking, skiing, paddle boarding, skating, biking, camping and spending time at the family cottage. I love spending time with friends and family! I am also an avid reader!
My role is to provide support and guidance to children, teens, and parents. I believe in establishing a meaningful connection with my clients in order to help them draw on their own strengths, develop new skills and strategies to empower them to make positive changes in their life. I offer a safe, non-judgmental, and encouraging environment so children and youth feel comfortable and empowered. I look forward to having the privilege of accompanying you or your child on a journey of healing and self-discovery!
